Super Fabulous Litter!
We have a very special foster family as part of AdoptALab.org group of fosters that foster some of our pregnant mamas. Lisa and Rob do such a nice job of helping our mama whelp and then caring for them and their babies. It is not easy sometimes, but as Lisa will say, "it is very rewarding watching them grow up".

This litter came from a very sweet yellow female Lab named Sophie. She came in on a Pilots N Paws flight and actually started having her babies on the plane. She finished having her last baby and went directly to this wonderful foster family. As you can see the pups are fat and healthy and are some of the best socialized boys and girls you will find.

There are 7 all together, 2 girls; Shelby and Sydnee (adopted) and 5 boys; Scout, Stedman, Sully, Sterling and Sampson.

The pups have had two puppy shots, a bordetella vaccine. They will be spayed or neutered next week and will be ready for their new families immediately. The pups are 10 weeks old.

Harry - ADOPTED!
Our handsome boy named Harry needed a new home, so a really nice animal control officer called AdoptALab.org and asked us to find one for Harry. We said, "send that handsome boy to us".

Harry is one of the most gorgeous fox red Labs we have ever seen. He came from a family that had him since he was 8 weeks old when they bought him and his sister from a Lab breeder. He is now 10 months old and is one beautiful boy.

Harry is smart and easy to train. He is already house trained and crate trained. Harry does very well with other dogs and loves to play. He is a fabulous Lab and embodies everything great and wonderful about the breed. He loves to retrieve, swims like a fish and is the best companion ever to people.

Please apply for this great dog if you are looking for a young active Lab with good basics! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative.

We love him!!!

Charlotte
It is hard to imagine how scared and confused this beautiful girl was when her family surrendered her to their local shelter. They could not keep her because they were moving. We decided to name her Charlotte, which is a beautiful old English name that means "free". She is free now and is with us at AdoptALab.org. She is the belle of our doggy daycare and is happy to meet all the other dogs and every person she can manage to meet. She greets dog and person alike with friendly wiggles and waggles.

Charlotte is a lower energy girl who enjoys her down time. However, she is not a couch potato.

Charlotte is a purebred yellow female who weighs about 70 lbs. She is about 5 years old and is good health. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines and ready for her new family. Please apply for this charming girl today!

Ellie only weighs about 40 lbs and at about 10 months she will only get marginally larger. She is good with children and has been in a family with kids previously. Her first family could not afford to take proper care of her and she was surrendered to local animal control.

Ellie will be spayed. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and ready for her new family. Please apply for her today!

Isaac
Isaac is a good boy. That is his most favorite thing to hear his foster mom say, "GOOD BOY"! Isaac had a run of hard luck and ended up at a high kill metro animal shelter where he did not have much chance at adoption. AdoptALab.org was asked to take this boy into our program and we happily found a place for him at doggy daycare.

He is loving it! This boy is rather the social butterfly. He enjoys meeting and greeting new dogs and people. He is a gentleman and has excellent house manners.

Isaac is about 5 or 6 years old and has the settled personality and laid back energy that is typical of this age. He knows his obedience commands and loves to show them off.

Issac is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is ready for his new family. Please apply for him today!

He is good with other dogs at doggy daycare and can be a great dog for the dogpark.

Rosie
Rosie is a sweet mush face of a girl. She is a little bit larger than some females and at about 70 lbs she is a majestic sight. This purebred chocolate female has all the bells and whistles! She is house trained and crate trained, she loves people, she knows a few obedience commands and is easy to teach...what more could you ask for!

Our Rose is a little on the laid back side. She loves to go for walks and be outdoors but then enjoys her time inside with you. Her favorite place will be sleeping on your feet!

She is a little timid in new situations and is not the kind of girl for jaunts to the dog park. He preference is to be a homebody. Please keep this in mind when applying for her.

Rosie is about 3 years old. She is in great health and is heartworm negative. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

This gorgeous girl is really a prize of a dog. She loves people and other dogs and gets along with everyone that she meets. She really has that very even temperament that Labs are know for and enjoys life to the fullest. She is a happy girl and you cannot help but smile in her presence.

This pretty little four year old Lab came to us because her mom and dad are getting a divorce and they cannot care for her and her brother Max any longer. Sadie is a very happy well adjusted girl who will make a family a wonderful family dog.

She is used to being around children, loves other dogs, tested great with both men and women and is an all around wonderful Labrador retriever!

Chloe
We love our seniors at AdoptALab.org and try and try and help as many as possible. Chloe is one of our most recently rescued girls. She was abandoned and no longer had a family to love her. She is so happy to have all the attention she is getting and is quite the prima donna!

Chloe loves people. She excels at being a companion Lab and loves to spend time with her foster mom. She adores walks and then comes inside and naps at her foster mom's feet.

Chloe is about 8 years old. She is not a lazy couch potato girl at all, she loves her adventure walks and has plenty of get up and go! She is the perfect companion.

Chloe gets along well with other dogs. She is house trained and crate trained. She has perfect house manners and knows several obedience commands.

This girl is a prize and deserves to have a family love and care for her again. Please, please help us find a great home for Chloe.

Hart
Hart is such a handsome sweet Lab. It is so sad that he came to us with some scars and part of his tail missing. He did not have a great life before coming here and we are happy to show him the sweet life! He has plenty of good food, treats, people that love him and other dogs to play with. He practically smiles all the time now!

Hart is about 4 years old and weighs about 65 lbs. He is a real sweetheart of a Lab boy and didn't deserve the life he used to have. It is very rewarding to be able to pull Hart from his shelter and make sure he finds a great new home.

He really is hoping for a new family that will love him and cherish him. Hart is house trained and crate trained. He is a wonderful companion and is a true medium energy.

Hart is up to date on all his vet care and ready for his new family. Please apply for him today!

Arnie
Update: Addy and Abe have been adopted and now sweet Arnie is looking and hoping for his own wonderful home, just like his siblings. Please help us find Arnie his new family!

We have three wonderful yellow Lab mixed pups named Abe, Addy and Arnie. The pups are about 4 months old and ready to go to new families. They are approved to go to homes with kids as they aced their temperament tests.

See their video on our YouTube channel here!

The pups were pulled just in time from a rural animal control where they had no hope. In fact, their records indicated they were already euthanized. We cannot describe how happy we were to discover this was not the case and we could still save them. They are at our doggy daycare facility now and doing wonderfully.

The pups have had two sets of puppy shots, rabies, bordetella and will be spayed or neutered this week. Once this is all done, they are ready to go. Please get your application in quickly we always have lots of people that want beautiful yellow Lab mixed pups like these babies!

Jojo
We have all heard about the "black dog Syndrome" before and here it is again. At Adopt A Lab we take the dogs that need us the most. The last couple weeks all the yellows and chocolates have been adopted out of our member shelters leaving a unusually large amount of black Labs behind. Over the next few weeks we are making a concentrated effort to find these wonderful dogs great homes. For us, black Labs are the best and most overlooked dog in the shelter. Please become our partner in saving one of these lovely dogs and giving them the bright, new, happy home they deserve.

Jojo is one of the nicest boys! He found himself abandoned at his local shelter after his family lost their home. He is a medium energy boy who loves people and loves to play fetch.

He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play in his playgroup. He is house trained and crate trained.

Jojo so wants someone to love him again. He would love to have an active family or individual that would like a jogging or hiking companion. He really loves to go on adventures.

Jojo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Please apply for this wonderful boy today!

Penny
Penny is a strikingly beautiful Lab mixed girl. We do not know what she is mixed with, we just know she is gorgeous!

Penny has a bit of a sad story. She came to us with 4 little pups. Mama Penny and all her babies were infested with more ticks than we have ever seen in one place. Sadly all her babies died. Even with the best of care we were unable to save them. They were so severely anemic from the ticks. Happily Penny is now thriving. After a treatment of Doxycycline just in case those ticks were carrying something bad, she is pronounced very healthy by our veterinarian Dr Heather!

Penny is a very sweet tempered girl and loves people. She also does very well with other dogs at our doggy daycare.

Penny is trustworthy with new people and loves children. Please help us find Penny the home she deserves after being rescued from people that either didn;t know any better or just didn't care. Let's show Penny she is worth saving and apply for her today. She will make a lovely family dog.

Penny is spayed and up to date on all her vaccines. She is heartworm negative and ready for her new family.

Ruby
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby is her name...another old song another new dog. We just can't seem to help ourselves and always have someone to sing to here at AdoptALab.org. This beautiful girl named Ruby is a black Lab/great Pyr mix, we think. She is a gorgeous 1 1/2 year old girl with pearly white teeth and a very, very laid back personality. Don't be fooled by the white on her chin, this is a little bit of white fur and is not a graying muzzle.

She came to us as an owner surrender from the Nashville area. Another one of the flood victims with no home. She is doing fabulously her at AAL and we love her so! We think she would make a fantastic dog for a low key person. She is fine with noise and mayhem, but she is a pretty laid back girl and to match her personality a more laid back homebody type person might bond with her the most.

She gets along fine with other dogs, but is more into being with her people and getting ear rubs. She loves to curl up by her foster mom and do computer work.

Ruby is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative. She is ready for her new home, please help us complete her rescue and apply!

"Now I love this girl, I said-a Ruby is her name
Believe me, now
When this girl looks at me she just sets my soul aflame
Doncha know, whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh
I got some hugs and-a kisses too
Yeah and now I'm gonna give-a them all to you
Now, listen, now Ruby, Ruby, when will you be mine
Gonna get you sometime, Ruby"

Sadie
Our beautiful Sadie is a very typical Lab girl as you can see. She loves the water and is adept at chasing tennis balls. Sadie is a sweetheart of a girl and is excellent with people. She gets along with other Labs but does not like little tiny dogs and she does not like cats. At AdoptALab.org's doggy daycare she has met several new dogs and has done wonderfully with all of them in playgroup.

Sadie loves to walk on leash and hikes to the creek at AAL every afternoon. She would make a wonderful walking companion and loves to hang with her people.

Sadie is about 2 years old. She weighs about 65 lbs and is a purebred yellow female Lab. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She is also heartworm negative.

Please apply for this fabulous girl. She really needs a new family to love and care for her.

Cooley - ADOPTED!
AdoptALab.org got a call about a handsome black Lab puppy stuck in a high kill shelter. The rescue worker said "What a cool dog" and that is how Cooley got his name! He arrived at our doggy daycare for rescue dogs with his tail wagging and a big ole smile on his face. The rescue worker was right on...he is a cool dog.

Cooley is a 6 month old purebred black Lab puppy. He is a fabulous boy and is very well behaved. Cooley is great with other dogs, loves kids (and is approved to go to a home with kids) and is comfortable with both men and women.

We really think this boy is something special!

He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He is heartworm negative and ready for his new family. Please apply for him today!

Cookie - ADOPTED!
Cookie is a slightly built black Lab boy ready for his new family to find him. Cookie likes the action and wants to play, or jog or chase tennis balls, but then needs his mellow house time as well. He really is the best of both activity levels, active and fun, but also settled and cuddly.

Watch Cookie on AdoptALab.org TV here!

Cookie is about 2 years old. He weighs about 50 lbs and is taller and leaner than some Labs. He is a character of a boy and loves to be the center of attention.

He gets along very well with other dogs and has never met a person he wasn't totally in love with. Ear rubs and belly rubs are favorite pastimes and don't forget eating. One of Cookie's most favorite things to do!

This gentle dog needs a family to love and adore him. He deserves top have a family. Please apply to adopt this boy now!

He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative.

Riley - ADOPTED!
Here is another one of those silly small boys we couldn't leave at the shelter. This "not a lab" is probably a poodle mix. He has really short legs, so maybe poodle/Scotty or perhaps poodle/cocker.

Riley is a funny guy who thinks he is a Lab. He loves the Labs at our doggy daycare and struts around thinking he is a big dog like them. He gets along well with everyone he meets both canine and human alike.

He is a two year old boy who weighs only about 15 lbs. He is quite the character!

Riley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative.

Please apply for this goofy boy today!

Monday, August 23rd, 2010
Lily - ADOPTED!
Lily is on of the sweetest girls we have ever had. She was all set to become a breeder girl until her owner discovered she did not have pups easily. She was then discarded since she was of no use to him. We have her at AdoptALab.org now and love her to pieces!

Watch Lily on AdoptALab.org TV here!

Lily is a gentle soul who is a little shy in new circumstances. However, it does not take her long to brighten up and get happy once she give new things a try. She is such a nice dog and absolutely deserves a family that will love and care for her. We are happy she is with us and not with her former family who feels dogs like Lily are nothing more than a commodity.

Lily is about 3 years old, weighs about 60 lbs and is in great health. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative.

Please apply for this charming girl who wants nothing more than to be your lifelong companion. She is a keeper!

Cleo's Babies ALL ADOPTED!
This is one of our favorite litters of all time. They are the cutest little pups. Mama Cleo is the purebred chocolate Lab who was dropped off at her local shelter with 10 gorgeous little black Lab pups. The volunteers were determined to get the family to rescue and when the shelter was closed, they crawled through the dog door to rescue the pups and mama so they could come to AdoptALab.org.

We have had them for about a month and they are growing and thriving babies. They get socialized an extra amount because they are so cute, we cannot keep our hands off of them!

The pups will have had their puppy vaccines, been wormed several time, they will be started on flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention and will be spayed or neutered before going to their new homes. Our vet, Dr Heather is a specialist with spays and neuters and takes wonderful care of our babies. This is all included in the adoption fee.

We have 7 boys; Chris, Cyle, Cayman, Carl, Clyde, Calvin and Cody, and 3 girls; Cayla, Cassie and Chloe.

Our terrific babies will be ready for new homes at the end of the month. The pups are approved to go to homes with children. Please apply today!

Patsy - ADOPTED!
Patsy is a gorgeous small yellow female Lab. She only weighs about 50 lbs and is so very, very sweet. Patsy was originally slated to become a breeder girl for a Lab breeder in Missouri. She did not grow large enough to successfully breed and so was released to be sold as a pet. She was purchased by a family and was a very loved companion.

Pretty little Patsy Puppy came to us from a concerned family member related to this family. Originally Patsy was treated well and was taken for car rides, she got hamburgers at the drive through and treated very well. Then the kids got older, the newness wore off and this beautiful girl was banished to the back yard. Then one day this family that "loved" this dog decided even that was too much work and she was dumped at their local very high kill shelter. That is until her new rescuer heard about this. She was promptly picked up and this really nice, caring person called us to beg for help placing Patsy. We were happy to oblige and through a huge volunteer effort with many additional nice folks volunteering their time to drive, Patsy eventually made it to AdoptALab.org.

She is doing great here with us and has shown us she gets along well with other dogs, is house trained and crate trained and walks beautifully on leash.

This girl needs a proper family now and we are counting on our fabulous adopters to step up and apply. Patsy is 2 years old, weighs about 50 lbs and is spayed, up to date on vaccine and is heartworm negative.

Beautiful chocolate Zoey is that sweet kind of chocolate that melts your heart. She came in to AdoptALab.org with her mother Missy after being given up by her family. They did not have the money to properly care for their dogs any longer and made the difficult decision to surrender them to their local shelter. The girls were in danger of being put down due to overcrowding at the shelter when AdoptALab.org heard about their plight. We made room and beautiful Zoey and Missy came to our doggy daycare. They are doing just great and are such happy girls.

Zoey is fabulous with other dogs. She is obedience trained and has wonderful house manners. Zoey sits for a treat and will take it gently from you hand. She is a lovely Lab who will give her new family many years of graceful companionship.

Port - ADOPTED!
Port and his brother Starboard came to AdoptALab.org all the way from Kansas. They were fostered by a wonderful Lab lover named Lisa and she writes about the boys:

I have been the lucky foster guardian for these two boys for the past 14 days. Starboard (aka Starbucky) and Port (aka Porter) are fun and spunky pups. Sadly, their previous owners spent very little time with them. In the past weeks, I have taught them the word sit. Both are now sitting and waiting for their food, to get let out, for their leashes to be put on, for treats/ball, etc. Both boys learned a simple sit very quickly. Today, they know their names; they listen to me and have the desire to want to please me. The boys used to be a little rambunctious at greeting times. They would jump-up like young labs tend to do. I have been working with them and the jumping is under control. They understand that jumping-up is not tolerated by me. I turn my back to them the moment they start to jump and wait patiently until they have settled down before I turn around and speak-to or pet them.

I have been taking them out for a walk every morning, lunch and evening. I have 5 Labradors of my own, so I know how much exercise these young pups need. I am lucky in that I live in a wonderful rural area and have a nice creek running through my property. The creek is a blessing for these hot & humid Kansas days. I have found that Starbucky loves to swim, but Porter prefers to just wade in the water but knows how to swim. They walk really well on a leash considering they probably never had any walks before. They do pull when they catch a fresh scent. (Deer, mouse, coyote, etc) but that's normal. Late in the evenings, I have been throwing balls for them. (I am sending these balls with them. I'm sure they are their first toys.) They both love to fetch. Porter loves fetching more so than Starbucky. Starbucky love playing keep-away from Porter.

We cannot thank Lisa enough for opening her home to these gorgeous boys. We also wanted you to read about the dedication and concern our foster families show the dogs in their care. A big tail wag goes to Lisa from Starbucky and Porter. Please apply for one or both of the boys today.

The boys are about 1 1/2 years old. They weigh about 70 lbs each and are neutered up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. The boys are fabulous Labs!
